Designed to protect ships, harbors, offshore oil platforms and nuclear facilities, it provides a passive, highly visible fence-like deterrent that stops attack vessels before they can get close enough to cause damage.

The part above the waterline is designed for vessels not fitted with propellers, such as jet skis.
